Without issue????????????????????????
Sure, things run fine if you install Office 2010 and open the apps individually (Word, Excel), and after about an hour I finally figured out how to make Word 2010 the default app for .docx files, but after about two hours, uninstalling Office 2016, rebooting, and trying every association method available in settings, I STILL cannot for the LIFE of me get the Startup folder to use Excel 2010 and open some simple spreadsheets at startup time!!
I DID have at least the Files in File Explorer associated with 2010, so that worked...UNTIL I uninstalled Office 2016 to fix the Startup problem.
NOW, no matter what I do, even though 2016 was uninstalled, the best I can do is to associate the files with Office 2010, which of course does not actually open the spreadsheets.
Microsoft Access Database Engine 2010 Redistributable. This download will install a set of components that can be used to facilitate transfer of data between 2010 Microsoft Office System files and non-Microsoft Office applications. Get the latest information about Microsoft Excel 2010, including product features, support, download information and more.
I've tried excel /r in the Run window, and that very happily opens Excel 2010, but it doesn't appear ANYWHERE in the file association options....it just keeps trying to shove 2016 down my throat.
Why won't anything work??????????????
I'm going to try ONE MORE TIME to reinstall/repair Office 2010, but my expectations at this point are VERY low!!!
Any ideas would be very happily welcomed!!
Thank you, and have a nice night!!
